The African American Mentorship Program (AAMP) is designed to help expose African American Stanford undergraduates to the innumerable career opportunities in the field of health, as well as to help them experience the tremendous value of mentoring relationships. We intend to place driven and passionate undergraduates with likeminded Stanford faculty, alumni, and local health practitioners who can help stoke the fire that burns within our black scholars. Through regular meetings between the mentoring pairs, guest speakers, and social events, we hope that the mentoring engagement is mutually beneficial, implants the desire to continue seeking out mentoring opportunities, and instills a resolve within mentees to begin taking on mentoring roles themselves.
